Vibez

Vibez Recordings began early in 1996 when London born Dave Stewart (Subject 13) had a very strong musical background & mindful direction of where he wanted his label to go. Embracing many influences and the talents of himself and friends, the label began with some very beautiful atmospheric & drum emphasized recordings.

Throughout the years until present, the label has seen some groundbreaking talent recording under the Vibez name. Some include GLO veteran Big Bud, Partisan-known Tertius, and possibly most note-worthy, Dev Pandya aka Paradox/Alaska.

With the recent addition of a sublabel titled “13 Music”, Vibez has been incredibly busy pushing the boundaries they did so well previous to their brief bits of hiatus from 2000-2005. 13 Music has seen some fresh talent grace the label including Fracture & Neptune, Insight, Macc & Theory.

With absolutely high standards and a never drifting sense of musicality and character, Vibez stands tall to this day as a label that assures soundscapes that set themselves apart from everything else.

Some great forthcoming material to expect -
  • Alaska’s “Born Again”, backed with a gorgeous Makoto remix of “Aerosoul”, a label original from 2000. (VBZ030)
  • Theory & Dr. Know’s “Krakatoa”, along with Fracture & Neptune’s “Boogalou”. Both are very driving drummy pieces, where sample quality & programming skill really shine through. (13MUSIC004)
  • Paradox presents a brand new album under alias Alaska, titled “Arctic Foundations”. Coming next week on 4x12” vinyl with stunning art & photography, along with a CD release featuring a 16 page booklet in April. The tracklisting is an amazing trip across many styles of broken beat in a fashion only Paradox can do. (13MUSIC001LP)
